Pepper Vodka Recipe

We used our smoking gun and added a bit of smoky flavor to it. This is very simple, but can make all the difference in a Bloody Mary!

Pepper Vodka

Pepper Vodka Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 750 mL bottle of vodka (brand is up to you!)
  • 2 tablespoons peppercorns, slightly cracked

Pepper Vodka Recipe Directions

If you want the smoked flavor, choose a wood (we used hickory this time around) and use the smoking gun or another method to infuse the smoked flavor into the slightly cracked peppercorns. If you’re using the smoking gun, we recommend two cycles, and allowing the smoke to sit inside the bag with the peppercorns for about half an hour each time, to ensure the flavor really gets locked in. After the smoking is complete, completely crack the peppercorns and grind them with a mortar and pestle or spice grinder.

Add the pepper to the bottle of vodka. If you opted not to smoke them, leaving the peppercorns slightly cracked will be fine.

Store the bottle in a cool, dark place for seven days.

On the 3rd, 5th, and 7th days, shake the bottle a few times (not vigorously!)

On the last day, your vodka should be a very dark brown.

Before you drink it or serve to your friends, strain the vodka to remove all the pepper.

Store the vodka in clean, sterilized jars.

This easy pepper vodka recipe is sure to be a hit with your friends!
